Our Accreditations - BAFE, SSAIB, NICEIC and More

BAFE SP203 - Fire Detection and Alarm Systems

BAFE (British Approvals for Fire Equipment) SP203 is the third-party certification scheme for companies involved in the design, installation, commissioning and maintenance of fire detection and alarm systems. It is the standard specifically recognised by the fire and rescue services, insurers, building control bodies and fire safety enforcement authorities as evidence of competent fire alarm work.

To hold BAFE SP203 certification, a company must demonstrate that its management systems, technical competency, documentation processes and quality management all meet the requirements of the scheme. Assessment visits are carried out by an approved certification body and the certification is renewed regularly.

What BAFE SP203 means for you

  • Your fire alarm installation and maintenance is carried out by an independently assessed, competent company
  • Your insurer will recognise BAFE SP203 as evidence of compliant fire alarm maintenance - important in the event of a claim
  • Enforcement authorities accept BAFE SP203 as evidence that fire alarm work meets the requirements of BS 5839-1
  • You receive a BAFE certificate of conformity on completion of installation or maintenance work

See our Fire Alarms page for details of our fire alarm installation and maintenance services.

SSAIB - Security Systems and Alarms Inspection Board

SSAIB (Security Systems and Alarms Inspection Board) is one of the UK's leading certification bodies for security system installation companies. SSAIB certification covers intruder alarm systems, CCTV systems, access control, fire detection and remote monitoring - and is recognised by all major UK insurers as evidence of professionally installed, compliant security systems.

SSAIB-certified companies are assessed against UKAS-accredited standards including BS EN 50131 (intruder alarms), BS EN 62676 (CCTV) and BS EN 50133 (access control). Regular assessment visits and ongoing audit requirements ensure that certified companies maintain their standards over time.

What SSAIB certification means for you

  • Your intruder alarm, CCTV or access control system is installed and maintained by an independently certified company
  • SSAIB-certified installations meet insurer requirements for insurance-approved security systems - essential for premises with specific insurance conditions
  • Police response to alarm activations requires an SSAIB or NSI-certified installer in most UK police force areas
  • Your system is designed and installed to the relevant British and European standards

See our Intruder Alarms, CCTV Systems and Access Control pages for details of our security services.

NICEIC - National Inspection Council for Electrical Installation Contracting

NICEIC is the UK's leading voluntary regulatory body for the electrical contracting industry, with over 60 years of history assessing and registering electrical contractors. NICEIC-approved contractors are assessed against the requirements of BS 7671 (the IET Wiring Regulations) and must demonstrate ongoing technical competency, quality management and correct certification practices.

NICEIC registration is widely recognised by local authorities, building control bodies, insurers and facilities managers as evidence of competent electrical work. All our electrical installations and inspections are NICEIC-certified, and we provide an Electrical Installation Certificate or EICR on completion of all relevant work.

What NICEIC approval means for you

  • All electrical work is carried out to BS 7671 standards and certified on completion
  • NICEIC registration provides assurance that our engineers have been independently assessed for technical competency
  • Certification documents are valid for insurance purposes, building control applications and property transactions
  • NICEIC backs its registered contractors - the body provides a complaints and investigation process for clients

See our Commercial Electrical, Residential Electrical and EICR pages for details of our electrical services.
